    I have managed to get your Beta Flavours 1.2 running on 10.10, unfortunately the only way to do this was change system version.plist to 10.9 - which stops pretty much everything else working! However it ran well and themed everything as it should. Turning Flavours off and rebooting with 10.10 returned as the system version - everything returned to normal  and works fine. So I would say it is pretty much 10.10 compatible out of the box - is there any chance in the next build you could support 10.10? I'm quit happy to do bug testing on it as I will be running all the betas of 10.10.

    Robert, are you betatesting the Yosemite OS? Flavours hasn't even been tested properly for that OS.

    Yes, I am running Yosemite 10.10 on a development machine, and forced Flavours to run by changing my system version to 10.9. I can certainly tell you it seems to work, and had no adverse affects. I just thought it might be worth letting the app run on 10.10 - because if you don't have time to test it others at least could - it's not really possible to test while the system thinks it is 10.9 because most of the stock Apple apps won't run - because they need 10.10 or higher!

    Hi @Robert!

    As you noticed, you faked the system to think it's 10.9 and nothing works anymore. This also affected the way the UI is drawn by the system: you forced CoreUI to use legacy theming engine (which tricked you to think Flavours could be theming correctly) instead of the new one introduced by 10.10. So, unfortunately, Flavours does not support Yosemite.

    At this point, the new OS X 10.10 UI is not fully implemented yet, and it is too early to estimate the development required to fully accomodate all those changes.

    We are currently finishing Flavours 1.2 - which brings extended theming capabilities to OS X 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9 - and will continue our R&D work on OS X Yosemite in parallel.

    We appreciated your feedback.

    Thanks.

    Thank you for the comprehensive reply, I had not realised that changing the system version would do more then affect the apps that look for the plist to work out what OS version they are running on. I will look forward to your future updates and support of 10.10, but from my initial trials of your app it is very powerful and I am sure will be hugely popular in the Apple  OS theming community.

    I'm wondering how it can be that the right-hand side of iTunes does not take on the left-hand side appearance when using strokes on the sides?

    I've attached a screenshot of a theme I'm working on that has this behaviour. My Stroking-series I'm certain has this bug? too.

    The screenshot is of Finder and iTunes on the right in Mini Player mode. Note: It's only in this mini player mode that the issue arises.

    HI Allan!

    Unfortunately, is not a bug, but a reflection of a system limitation: iTunes still uses the old resource forks for its images (.rsrc); this file type has been around since the previous millennium :) The problem with this file type, is that it has address limitations, and .rsrc cannot grow larger than a specific file size (aprox 16MB I think); the proof of this is that iTunes currently uses 3 .rsrc (!) instead of one! Because of this, we recently (March 2014, I think) had to crop the images exported to iTunes to not exceed .rsrc file size limitation; this is why you are observing this limitation. With the current adoption/move from .rsrc to .car files, it is expected that the next iTunes version (on OS X 10.10, at least) completely moves away from .rsrc to the new .car..... let's wait and see!

    Thank you for your continuous feedback :)

    I have one very odd issue with Temps - a weather application from the Mac App Store that sits in the menubar and has a monochrome as well as a colorful window.

    The thing I have observed is that without Flavours activated and not having any theme applied the temperature shows like it should along with the symbol for the current weather. Location etc shows up fine.

    With a theme, any theme, using the Flavours Beta 1.2b1 I only see a 0(zero) for where the temperature should be. It's as if the font system has been messed up while applying a theme.

    Also -- no other information other than a symbol for current weather is shown regardless of settings within Temps app.

    The themes I have applied are all from me, Plasticy, Stroking Burble, and Inspired GUI. This is on a fresh OS X Mavericks installation. Using converted themes to Beta edition.

    The zero itself is elevated. And the real kicker is that when colorful interface is turned on for Temps - the zero becomes a 1 when the window opens.

    Temps itself costs a little so I don't expect you developers to run out and buy it - do you need a screenshot to see the zero and 1?

    What can I give you of additional information? Should I clear Fonts Cache now?

    I have a weird problem.  Everytime I try to upload an image and click on the "choose" button, it crashes... I already sent the crash information.

    Thanks for an amazing update!

    I have an issue with the firefox flavours extension: it would not activate, so I uninstalled it thinking that by re-applying a flavour it would come back and work... but it was a no go... Do you have a way to re-install the flavours extension for firefox ?

    About my post above, nevermind I found it: just show content on flavours.app > open content/resources and drag the xpi file into firefox :)

    But I found a bug with second monitor (check if you can reproduce it): the menubar is not themed in second monitor when no window is focused (click on desktop for instance). Either not themed, or not always themed because it seems that it is the menubar theme of the previous flavour I applied...

    (sorry for 3 post in a row :/ )

    I have bug to report myself regarding the menu bar behavior. Occassionally some items like part of the date or other icons like the bluetooth icon disappear from the menu bar randomly, Logging out and logging back in seems to fix it temporarily, but not for long.

    Additionally sometimes the "highlight" states of the menu bar items when selected don't appear, as seen from the attached file, while other times the highlighted state is stuck there even when I don't have that specific menu item clicked on.

    Thanks for the update, Nuno! I just tried out the window exclusions again with both AIM and Skype and it works perfectly now.

    I'm not sure if it's doable, but I would love to see more in-depth exclusions in the future. To be honest Safari looks horrible no matter what window design I use, so I'd love for Flavours to be able to ignore the aqua/metal buttons and window designs for a specific application, but as it is right now the only option available that allows for specific exclusions is the window design, and I don't really want to do a hard exclusion because that will exclude the menu bar as well, I assume.

    Anyway so far everything it functioning great, and as always there's no extra cpu usage. I only have a few small, aesthetic problems to point out right now. For one (and if you're using a dark theme) you might notice a bad looking highlight on the corners of a finder window. The next problem is the fullscreen icon at the top right corner of a finder window (which I assume is only for Mavericks but I can't say for certain), it doesn't seem to change along with the applied flavour so it stays as a black icon no matter what. And finally I noticed when having Skype open that some of the text that should be black was instead changed to white. I think that would apply to my suggestion of having more in-depth exclusions, but I thought I would point it out anyway if anyone else happens to be using a dark flavour. Attached is a screenshot with the three tiny bugs I mention in this paragraph.

    Hey guys - OK to install 10.9.4 beta?

    I'm so very tired of the Skype Keychain issue. It's not at all fixed despite using the Window exclusion in Flavours. I have found all related Skype items using EasyFind and removed the Keychain Access entries for Skype before installing Skype again.

    I'm now up to 7 or 8 requests for access to the Keychain.

    @patrick, some things are unfortunately undoable (like controls exclusion by app); regarding status bar icon tint feature, although there are some improvements on beta2, there as some downsides on using this feature that we currently can't circumvent (like the highlighted/pressed background you mentioned); we are aware of window corners issue and have slightly improved in 1.2 but issue still exists - will get back to this later, with more time, as requires additional hacking.

    @brett, should be ok but will check it and let you know;

    @allan, only workaround to "mute" Skype keychain warnings is by doing the procedure outlined on my last comment here; but won't mute the Contacts warning.

    Thanks Nuno -- although I knew about the Skype Keychain trick. The issue with Contacts for Skype can be silenced with two things. Uncheck Use Mac Contacts in the Skype Preferences and uncheck Skype's ability to access the Contacts through the Privacy and Security Preferences in System Preferences. Silence at last - for me anyway.

    I have just released two themes - Darky dark and Darky dark bright edition and there seem to be some issues with text throughout the OS when turning the Metal buttons white or altering the menubar to be white or grey. For instance - the Mail favoritesbar is almost unreadable due to the white text on a light grey window background with a dark window text but with all white Metal glyphs.

    I hope that someday Flavours is better at telling things apart.

    Also if one installs an app through 1Password website and one uses both white text on Aqua buttons and White glyphs on Metal buttons the Add/Cancel buttons for installing Extensions makes it impossible to see what the 2 buttons say - But if one uses Google Chrome that person can guess easily what the buttons says.

    Thanks for the two beta versions so far. Here's to many more releases of Flavours.

    And btw. I have attached a screenshot that includes a bug that is present in Mail only as far as I'm aware. You'll have to look closely at the Inbox text at the highlight. There's a box within the highlight. This happens, for me, with every color I use and in any configuration of a theme. With my stroking series I can see this easily.

    I have to ask other users of Flavours 1.2b2 if they see this issue with Mail - the active state of the font type is not good looking in comparison to the Finder Sidebar - I've tried what I can in terms of changing colors and such but the font appears too narrow and the shadow is all wrong.

    @Brett

    It is safe to install OS X 10.9.4, now out of beta. Flavours 1.2b2 works perfectly fine! Thank you for asking.

    I just want to say I'm still having a highlight issue when using inverted menu bars on Mavericks 10.9.4. on the right side (with the time, battery life, etc.) whenever I click on one of those menu items the selection doesn't get highlighted when the dropdown menu appears, so basically the right side of the menu bar is sort of in a frozen state when I'm navigating through the dropdown menus.

    @WindOSX

    Piracy really hurts indie software development.

    Although your actions don't bring any real benefit to the 40 thieves rotting in your cave, they cause a great deal of damage to this indie project and to the supporting community.

    Whenever you find a indie project that you consider "AMAZING" you should support it, not kill it.

    Thank you.
