Window Title Bar Transparency?

    Hi!

Thank you for jumping in and drop in a suggestion!

We spent some time investigating this possible feature some months ago. By the way the windows are drawn by the system, we were unable to find a non-obstrusive way of doing this without considerably affecting overall system performance. Of course, this may change in the future. We really would like to support this feature, and will keep this open for the future, but right now it doesn't seem feasible.

We know that the Crystal Clear Interface (now unsupported on 10.9) used to do this, but it was done with a somewhat obtrusive way and with a noticeable performance impact. If I recall correctly, it changed the window type to borderless which removes the regular titlebar, affects window shadow (needed to remove shadows and manually draw them), and inhibits titlebar controls drawing so, it needed to manually reimplement the affected features (slower) thus, increasing the risk of application compatibility.

That said, we would like to support this feature - and we hope we do, in the future - but only with cleaner, and less obtrusive and preferably low performance impact approach!

    Hope this helps!

Thanks man, I will continue to recommend this app to my friends to help support future development. Some seriously great work you've done here, quite a few leagues ahead of anything else out there right now. Really hoping that a cleaner way to do transparency becomes apparent sometime, but for now, I'm completely satisfied. Thanks a ton!
